We’ve all heard the joke, no fat, no sugar, no gluten, no good.

I’m personally a huge advocate of this saying.

I won’t lie to you I have a secret stash of dib dabs and I love bread. Like I love bread. It’s the deepest and longest relationship I’ve had. So jumping on the health band wagon hasn’t been the easiest thing I’ve ever done.

But that being said, I do think that eating a more plant-based diet and changing the choices we make can lead to overall better health, including our mental health.

There’s a reason that we don’t feel full or well after we chow down on a big mac, no one feels their best when they’re bloated and lethargic.

All the same I feel your hesitation, so let’s kick off with an easy one – Brownies!

This recipe is gluten, dairy and refined sugar free, so if you feel like it, eat 7. Who cares.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of coconut flour

1/3 cup of raw cacao powder

1 cup almond butter

5 tbsp golden syrup

1/4 cup of almond milk

2 eggs

1 tsp salt (Himalayan pink preferably. Just kidding, that’s ridiculous.)

1 tsp baking powder

How to?

Preheat the oven to 160c, sift the flour, cacao powder, salt and baking powder into a bowl. In a different bowl (obviously) whisk the almond butter, syrup, eggs and almond milk together until bubbly.

Add the contents of one bowl into the other and fold until it looks like goop. Literally. Bake for 25 minutes, and enjoy!
